TT Plants Tulips!

This spring Tom Thomson's grade 4 class wanted to regreen the front of Tom Thomson Public School, here is what they did

Mr . Bloemeke’s grade 4 class has been studying biodiversity for a while now and chose to plant tulips for our school yard in late October. They’ll be ready for late spring. The class wasn’t going to plant the tulips by themselves, they collected banana peels too put in the soil with the tulips . By adding the banana peels it helps create soil and reduce the amount of waste and also helps grow the tulips faster.

In my opinion I think that was a very smart thing to do adding the bananas for keeping away the squirrels. The amount of tulips planted was 25 red and 25 white for the 150 years of confederation. In June Mr.B (teacher) is planning on taking his class too our creek to study more biodiversity. Mr.B also believes every child should have a chance of getting into nature which is very important to relax and

calm down the body.
