Halton Waste Management Site Visit!

On May 3 Tom Thomson’s grades 5 and 6 are going on a field trip to Halton waste management.

I bet you're wondering what that is , well it's a recycling facility . We are going there to learn about garbage and where it ends up. I know you might be thinking why can’t you just study, during work time. The reason is because if we go to the facility it will give us a hands on experience. We hope this will inspire some of our students that go there to improve their recycling, also to reduce and reuse. This will also give a better idea of where your garbage ends up . When were there we will see professionals at work , they will show us the different roles around the facility for example compacting recyclables together, also sorting garbage together .If you are interested in this article the website for the facility is on this link.
